LEARN ABOUT KAMP K9 HAWAII'S INSTRUCTOR
Bertha Villanueva-Shertzer is Kamp K9 Hawaii's Co-owner, Kamp Director, and Certified Pet First Aid & CPR Instructor.
She is a graduate from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a US Army Disabled Combat Veteran (Sergeant), having served in Kabul, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Starting the journey in the pet industry with Kamp K9 Hawaii along side her husband (Mark Shertzer, US Air Force Retired Veteran) , providing exclusive overnight dog boarding services and care for families on the island of Oahu, HI.
Bertha is the content creator and blog author for Aloha Dog Mom, a blog to inspire responsible pet parenting and spread awareness on topics of pet first aid, pet safety, pet wellness and more. Aloha Dog Mom has been selected as one of the Top 25 Dog Mom Blogs and Websites for 2021, 2022, and 2023.
She received her first Pet First Aid and CPR certification through the American Red Cross, followed by a Certification in Dog and Cat First Aid & CPR through Pro Pet Hero, and went on to earn Pro Pet Hero's Instructor Certification in Pet First Aid, Pet CPR, Pet Safety, and Pet Wellness.
Bertha is often found in her home office continuing her education in pet emergency care, pet safety, and planning new content to share on social media platforms for Kamp K9 Hawaii and Aloha Dog Mom.
Pivoting away from providing dog boarding services after 9 years, Bertha changed direction, dedicating Kamp K9 Hawaii to proudly provide high quality training and valuable education with pet first aid and cpr classes to help pet parents, pet industry professionals, law enforcement, emergency responders, and any individual dedicated to pets across Hawaii and the mainland replace fear and panic with knowledge to confidently take action to help any sick or injured dog or cat.
